A handwritten letter from HRH Princess Marina Duchess of Kent to Major Needham, dated March 26 1964; The Princess writes to Major Needham after hearing of his approaching retirement, thanking him for his devoted service as chairman of her hospital management committee, signed 'Believe me, yours very sincerely Marina', in the original envelope with a typed copy of the letter, accompanied by a handwritten reply from Major Needham to express his gratitude upon receiving her letter, telling her that it has been a privilege to serve her over the last forty years; together with a typed letter to Major Needham from Princess Marina's secretary, dated 22nd January 1965, informing him of her pleasure to discover that he is to receive an honour in the New Year; a framed photograph of Princess Marina; and a book 'The Heritage of Oswestry' regarding the origin and development of The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (1900-1961)
